"Alisha Datwani just launched her jewelry line, @thisisalaya, a few months ago, but she’s been preparing for it since she was a child. “I started working at my family’s wholesale jewelry business when I was 15,” she says. “But I always wanted to create something on my own.” And her family—first-generation immigrants who moved to Miami from India—couldn’t be prouder. “My family has helped me every step of the way,” she says. “The name Alaya is actually the combination of my and my sister Ayesha’s names.”
